Hi! Welcome to Dreams of Dashi!
A couple of years ago, I gave up my corporate career to enroll at the Institute of Culinary Education in New York City to pursue my love for food. I completed my education at Annisa Restaurant and have freelanced in catering since. As much as I love working in a commercial kitchens, what gives me the most joy is helping others cook at home. In a city like New York, it’s so easy to go out and grab a bite. But I really believe that cooking at home enhances quality of life. Not only is it usually healthier than take out, but it brings family and friends together.
I started out this blog hoping to show that anyone and everyone can cook a delicious meal at home. With every recipe, I try to share some cooking tips along with how to choose ingredients so it’s approachable. The blog reflects how my family eats, so there’s a lot of Japanese (my heritage) and Chinese (my husband’s heritage) recipes sprinkled with some Italian (I just plain like it).
